The BDHS has always depended on input from volunteers to carry out many aspects of the work involved in maintaining the Deaf Museum and Archive. Recently, two appointments were made to strengthen the museum and archive teams in the new location in Manchester Deaf Centre.
Bryony Rigby was appointed our curator of Heritage and Collections on a 12-month contract and has been heavily involved in trying to re-establish the new museum.
James Hinchcliffe was appointed as our archivist, also on a 12-month contract, and has been busy putting our archives into order following our move from Warrington.
Maureen Jackson continues as our volunteer Librarian maintaining the research library and dealing with book orders and other general administration duties.
The BDHS is always grateful for any offer to volunteer with its work. If you are interested, please contact the office address on these web pages by email, phone or post.
